Honest Trailers praises Bowie’s turn in the 1986 cult classic.
Like I said in my small tribute to Bowie, I loved his turn in Labyrinth. And, despite it being an imperfect film, I still love the movie. It was imaginative and visually distinct, equally dark and humorous in turn. Well worth watching, at least once.
I’m willing to watch anything with Jennifer Connelly. I’m also willing to watch anything with Jennifer Connelly in it.
It’s one of those movies that I remember more fondly than it deserves. I think it’s because I remember it in “highlight” mode, where I just throw the stuff I didn’t like down the memory hole, and I’m left with cool scenes of the labyrinth itself, some M. C. Escherish bits, and some fun scenes with Bowie and Connelly. It’s uneven, but when it’s good, it’s really great.
