Ant-Man Kicks Ass!

No other way to say it, honestly: in the new Marvel trailer, Ant-Man kicks some serious ass. (And Paul Rudd proves he can do “action hero”.)

Some quick notes:

If you listen closely, you can hear where “steal some stuff” was overdubbed over “steal some”, well, something else. I’m betting that line is different in the movie.

Also, pretty sure that’s actually NOT how you punch. Or where. You’ll break your fingers, cut your knuckles, all that good stuff.

Knew that guy was the main villain in the first trailer, nice to see they don’t feel the need to be all coy about it.

And they made Thomas the Tank Engine suitably bad-ass. Marvel’s just break-dancing in the end zone now.

(It’s amusing that the movies are so awesome, and Marvel’s comics are turning to crap. Hope it isn’t contagious.)

Ant-Man comes out July 17, and I will be there. YOU HEAR ME, MARVEL?! I’ll GO SEE YOUR SFX SUMMER TENTPOLE BLOCKBUSTER EXTRAVAGANZA! AND I’LL PROBABLY LOVE IT!

You bastards.

  1. It’s not that odd considering the last two DC adaptions, one of which was Batman and the other Superman, really didn’t serve either character very well, and I suspect have really dampened a lot of people’s excitement for BvsS. In the case of Man of Steel, if BvsS continues with the same BS reimagining of Superman, then it won’t even be getting my money, which will really put the kibosh on getting into the DC film universe at all.

I have to wait until 19 September for Ant-Man :-(

  2. Consistently last. It’s sometimes possible to buy the USA Blu-Ray at the import shops before the film has even been released here. You’ll have had Age of Ultron 2 months by the time we get it. Kingsman, a modest hit but of an unknown ‘franchise’, looks like is passing us by.

  3. I’m going to go see it. I sorta have to after Guardians rocked me so hard last year*. But I really don’t want to. MAYBE it will work as a comedy. Maybe.

And yeah, that’s a terrible punch.

*I had low expectations despite being a fan of the Dan Abnett comics and it rocked me so hard I paid cash money six times in theaters….and that never happens to me anymore.
