SourAcid (aka Karl Liversidge) is one of the many, many artists I’ve become familiar with over the last month. His most recent, and most impressive, series is full-color painting of superheroes. And they are INCREDIBLE.
We start with Supergirl. Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El escaped the destruction of Krypton in Argo City.
Next is Spider-Gwen, a new Marvel character hailing from an alternate universe where Gwen Stacey was bitten by the radioactive spider instead of Peter Parker.
Last is the familiar Barbara Gordon as Batgirl. Commissioner Gordon’s daughter, Barbara was crippled during “The Killing Joke”, becoming Oracle. She was later reset to Batgirl in the New 52 continuity.
I’m no art critic, so I lack the hyper-convoluted vocabulary to simultaneously describe and obfuscate the paintings. I’ll just say that the near-photorealistic approach is my favorite, and SourAcid has done an amazing job of painting his subjects.
Nor are these three his only superhero paintings. He also has portraits of Emma Frost (the White Queen), Rogue, Storm, and Black Cat. All of these are available At The Link!
