Cloud Ships and Windblown Marvels

A model of a ship that can never fly, but goddamn, it absolutely should:

Ships that sail the skies.

This ship, and the dozens of others hanging behind it, are the brainchild of Luigi Prina, an Italian architect. He’s designed and built skycraft based on Roman ships, Greek vessels, Viking longboats, and even bicycles:

Beautiful, wistful, elegiac, these ships are a marvel in balsa wood and ultra-thin paper. Mr. Prina, on this, the Sixth Day of Photography Week, we salute you.

Small beauties from the hands of a craftsmen and artist, and the net amount of wonder in the world is increased.
